Although many players manually scored their club faces, the marking of faces on vintage iron clubs hasn't been introduced prior to the first few numerous the twentieth century. Again, even though this would probably not rank as a possible exact technique of dating old golf items, Mizuno MP-58 Irons an even face will indicate that you are owning a golf that dates prior to 1905.

Even if these are often represented as authentic wooden clubs, the actual reliable magnet test should uncover if thez original shaft is wood. Whether it not, this is a post 1930 age factor.

The Metal Club Head - Simple test. Previous to 1920, another type of grade of steel was adopted to produce clubheads. This inferior grade of steel, to put it mildly, results in clubs which today look more dated; dark colored, occasionally rusty. Mizuno MX-200 Irons
A classic golf-club that still exhibits a shiny clubhead woudl examine an article dated post 1920.
